I am slowly becoming more adjusted to my visits, the tightening doesn't freak me out as much as before.
The last appointment the focus was to start closing the gaps on the bottom teeth. I was given thicker wires, which when they put them on hurt like hell! Since that change in wires, I have noticed that my teeth on both sides my have moved closer together closing the spaces.
Another thing I've noticed my little fellas aka my baby teeth are hardly noticeable which has made my two adult teeth overshadow them. It looks as if I'm missing teeth. I've been asked a couple times if I gotten teeth pulled. I am a bit self conscious of the change but I am okay with explaining what's happening with my teeth. Man O man, I can't wait till those bad boys are gone forever!!!
So the focus now was to start closing the gaps at the top. I am really excited about that! The top row of teeth is where majority of the gaps are located so closing them is just awesome! Just like the bottom, I was given thicker wires, it seemed when those wires were applied the pain hurt worse than the bottom wires. After about 30 mins of my visit I was done.
A couple hours later I experienced a little pain and tenderness on my teeth but unlike the first time I was prepared...nachos were not the choice of food this time lol Definately learned my lesson. I made sure to have my meds on deck and soft foods were ready when I got hungry.
With three months in and I am still very excited about the constant changes. I know I have a ways to go but overall my treatment is going good. I have gotten very comfortable with my braces that I have reunited with my favorite snack...trail mix!! Lol yes I have managed the courage to snack on those cashews, almonds & peanuts for awhile now. I probably should cut back on the chocolate that comes with the trail mix because I don't want any cavities. I also need to be careful so I don't break any brackets. My snacking choices seemed to be confined to just yogurt & trail mix which can be a little boring so if you guys wanna recommend any snacks for me that would be great! Seems like I don't eat enough since I've gotten my braces...
Since my comfort level is doing great I have gotten a bit lazy on my brushing and flossing. :-( That is a big no-no. It is recommended to brush and floss after each meal but I just brush twice a day. I'm trying to get better with my brushing because again I don't want any cavities.
As always I will continue to keep you guys in the loop on any more changes! Until next time! Peace out!
