My #Journeyto10: Tips on How to get Back Fit

Hey guys!! How is everyone doing!? Long time no see right? I know I know I have been MIA but I've missed you guys!! We are counting down till the end of 2017 and I want to finish the year strong.  If you guys follow me on my social media platforms you saw that earlier this year I was going hard with working out and life got in the way and I fell off.  As the pounds came back & my lack of energy to do things surfaced I decided what better way to close out the year, by getting back on track with my wellness goals & losing 10 pounds! For the entire month of December I am committed and focus #Jourrneyto10. Man, why is it so hard to get back into working out when you have fallen off the wagon?? My motivation has leveled up I am here to share a few tips that I've been using to make sure I achieve my goal.

**Just a little disclaimer I am NOT a PROFESSIONAL.  These are tips and resources I have used and found on my own to be helpful.***

 EXERCISE
As much as I HATE being out of breath and sweating like a crazy person.  Exercise is a key component to start when getting back healthy.   If you are just getting back into the groove start off light. Depending on the weather check out your neighborhood track and go for a light walk.  It's not in my budget to hire a personal trainer so I utilize the resources I have.  Surprisingly there are many different ways to develop your own workout routine. Here's a few that I've used:

Nike Training App: Lots of workouts that can be done at home or gym
Join a Gym:  Check with your employer or local area for the nearest gym in your area.
YouTube: There are tons of videos that can you can search for
Take a Class:  Spin Class is really in trend right now!
Pint rest: Has a ton of workouts that can be done at home

CLEAN EATING

Baked Catfish, Black beans and Quinoa
If you are still getting that juicy burger from Wendy's or that 2 piece spicy from Popeye's you are NOT going to lose anything!  Most people assume that if they exercise and continue eating badly that it's okay, you are going about it the wrong way sis.  Although exercising is an important part of  healthy lifestyle, eating clean is 80 percent how you lose weight.   Fitness Magazine defines eating clean, "its simplest, clean eating is about eating whole foods, or "real" foods — those that are un- or minimally processed, refined, and handled, making them as close to their natural form as possible."  So on your next grocery shopping trip try to make a conscious effort of reading the labels.  If the label has anything you don't recognize then 9 times out of 10 it's not good for you.  Also everything that says "organic" is not Organic either.

 DETOXIFICATION

Another great way to cleanse the body of toxins, increasing energy and shedding weight is Detoxification.  There are multiple ways to detox your body such as drinking infused water, teas and dietary supplements.  Lately, I  have been infusing my waters with Cucumber, Lime and mint and my go to dietary supplement is "Greens on the Go".*   These two staples allow me to cleanse my system while obtaining the necessary nutrients I need to help maintain my weight.

ACCOUNTIBILITY PARTNERS
Bringing friends and family along your healthier lifestyle journey is awesome tip to stay on track.  Sharing on my social media platforms has been helping me stay motivated.  There are days when I want to quit but there is no better feeling receiving encouragement from the people I love who want to see me succeed! I came across an article on how this young lady used Diet Bet* to help her lose weight.  The site allows you to bet on your weight loss goals with friends or strangers.  It is a fun why to earn money and bragging rights.

HAVE FUN!!!
Last but definitely not least is to make sure you are having fun! Making a transition to a healthier lifestyle can be stressful enough and adding stress will not make things any easier.
