DIY: "Days of the Week" drawers

Hey guys! How is everyone doing!? Especially my parents!? How are you guys maintaining with the kiddos being in school!?  For some we just hit that one month mark! I hope you all have adjusted to those school hours and have developed a nice routine to make the mornings out the door smooth and less frustrating!  If you are still figuring things out like myself ways lol well, have a seat and let me give you a little advice on how I am staying prepared this year!

This school year is a whole 'nother ball game for me.  Last year it was Vannah first year being in school.  She was in preschool only going half a day which for me wasn't too bad.  Now we both have to get up early and ready around the same time which means more added time.  I have to pack a lunch and if her hair is not braided, I have to comb her hair.  Talk about a lot...lol

So to eliminate using too much time finding outfits (because Vannah school is a public school)  to wear I got this cool idea from Influencer and Fashion Blogger  Mia Ray, Confessions of a Glam-a-holic to create a DIY "Days of the Week" drawers. They were super easy to create.  Most of the materials I already had and from previous DIY projects.

Pink drawer from Ikea
First step is to grab a removable drawer.  You can pick this up from anywhere such as Target, Walmart or even a Thrift store.  Mines were actually given to me as a gift from Ikea.  I've had them for a very long time.

Secondly, you will need some letters.  You can do this any way you like.  Mia used stencils that she got from Micheal's.  I had some letters from a school project that Vannah had to complete.  I picked up the letters from my local Walmart for about $3.00.

Neon Poster Letters from Walmart
Next I placed the letters on the pink drawer.  I opted for the neon colors so the words would pop and be more visible.  I placed the letters diagonal on the front of the drawer.  The letters are like "post-it" notes so in order to get them to stay, I used my glue gun to keep the letters in place.  I continued this step for each day of the week.

Lastly, with each day of the week complete.  There you have finished product.

This was a easy peasy DIY project that is great with helping your little ones learn the days of the week and keep you organized.  If you like what you see also check out Mia Ray's Instagram under the Insta-TV feature for her DIY drawers!  What are some of the things that are keeping you organized with the kids?! Share your responses in the comment section!  Until the next one I'll see you guys later!

Great idea! My kids don't go to school yet but it's still something that can come in handy!
