Hola guys! How is everyone doing!? I hope everyone is well...I am here to bring an update on how things are going with my braces. September marked 9 months of my braces journey. Whoooo-hooo! I am half way through my plan, which is exciting! I have another year to go but the way things are going I am hoping that time is condensed.
I had a tightening appointment September 30, 2014, which consisted of applying a thicker wire to the top row of teeth. I was informed at my previous appointment that my top teeth were shifting downward, Dr. Kattner stated they were coming down looking like "bunny teeth." So the plan is to change the direction of the shifting, to make them go more across, if that makes sense..lol
It hurt like hell, when the dental technicians applied the thicker wirer. My teeth were super sensitive. Like my other appointments, I experienced tenderness & soreness but because of the pressure of the new wire my soreness lasted more than the usual couple days. For the most part I curved the pain with meds and kept it moving.
I have noticed some major changes. Most of my spaces have closed up quite a bit, which is huuuuggge progress but I still got some ways to go. I have provide some pics below so you guys can see some of my progression.
Here was me in the beginning a couple days with my braces:
Here I am so far, the pictures were taken today, October 23, 2014:
I tried to get as close as possible, but as you can see my gaps on the upper and lower left side have closed. However, the gaps on my right upper and lower side still haven't closed all the way yet.
In the beginning of my braces journey, I had a few challenges with adjusting to eating and getting comfortable. My eating habits are the same, I still cut everything up. I'm still banging my trail mix...lol I haven't cracked a bracket or have my wire come loose.
I am 100% comfortable with my braces now. However I am noticing the excitement I had a few posts ago is starting to fade...lol The mouth sores and constant food getting stuck in my brackets has become annoying, but the constant changes and having a pretty smile, makes all that irrevlant.
Besides the gripes I've been having fun with my energy chains aka "thicker wires" as I called them, color choices. Before I would just get the standard grey but I figured why not have fun, plus when I pick the color of the month I am entered in a contest of winning a gift card to Starbucks and any food choices they have. So far I haven't won anything but I am hoping my luck will work for me lol
Overall things are going pretty smoothly. I cannot wait till I can see the final product! I'll be back when I hit the one year mark! Till then yll b easy! ✌️
