Braces Journey: 6 Month Update

Hey guys!?! How's everyone doing!? I hope great! I am here to bring you a another installment on my braces journey.  June marks 6 months since I've had my braces.  Whew! Times is really flyyiiing! On June 10, 2014, I had my regular 4 week appointment.  This appointment was like my past appointments, checking on my treatment progress.  Dr. Kattner is pleased with how everything is going, he said everything is perfect.

I agree my treatment thus far is going really well.  I have noticed some slight improvements.  The process of closing the upper gaps is moving along rather nicely.  I can really tell on my upper left side the gaps are almost gone, however my upper right side is slowly getting there.  I still have a huge gap that I can fit the tip of my tongue through but some motion is better than none right?

The lower part of my mouth is where I notice the most improvement.  My gaps on both sides have closed and they have shifted a lot.  I mentioned in one of my posts how my baby teeth are over shadowed by my adult teeth.  It looks like I'm missing teeth lol.

The main focus of my treatment is still the same, continue closing the upper spaces.  I still have the thicker wires which I later found out are called energy chains.  I learned this terminology when it snapped on me after my last appointment.   I was walking into work then all of a sudden it popped.  In true Brandy dramatic fashion, I freaked and panicked upon several other emotions lol I called Dr. Kattner's office explaining "how my wire snapped." Three days later in the Ortho chair talking to the assistant, she informed me that it was my energy chain was what actually snapped.

I still have that nervous feeling when I get my braces tightened.  For some odd reason this time, the tightening was extremely intense and painful. The assistant mentioned my wire was long, so she had to adjust it...she was struggling with it which caused some discomfort.

As far as my snacking goes I'm still eating the hard foods, such as trail mix and granola.  I have to cut back on it though because I have experienced soreness and pain afterwards.

Overall everything is going good, my excitement has not faded.  I super eager to see my results when I hit my one year anniversary.  Hopefully, I will provide you guys with some progress pics soon.  Until the next time! Talk to u guys later!
